Reading: Students have also started a new read aloud where we work on comprehension and understanding of a story.
Writing: In Writing students will continue to research a topic of their choice and use their knowledge of nonfiction text features and write an informational piece. Students have begun to publish their nonfiction writing, and have moved on to a research report about California. Students are also working on a persuasive essay on donuts
Grammar/Spelling/Vocabulary: This week our focus will be, Daily Language Review. Math: We will be using a CGI, math workshop model this year. As a class we will work with Hundred's boards, and work on problem solving in our math notebooks. This week, students will begin working on their fractions unit focusing on fractions as decimals. Social Studies: Students will dive into California's Gold Rush by continuing a fun game! Science: Students will work on their next science unit, animal senses and survival. Students are finishing a project all about animals. Art: Students will be creating a watercolor sunset!
